Pet Care Services

I offer dog walking and pet visiting services in and around the Borough Green area. I walk all dogs personally and do not sub-contract the work out - so spaces are limited. I am reliable, trustworthy and fully insured. As this fits in around my painting work, I can be flexible in terms of frequency and times - so can accommodate to suit your needs.

Why should I trust you with my pet?

I totally understand this question.  My pets are part of our family (my dogs were at my wedding!).  My manner is calm, kind and consistent.  My approach is to avoid a situation, so as to remain in control at all times.  I will not let your dog off the lead - or walk them with dogs they don't want to be around.  Basically, I don't take any risks.

Will you walk my dog with other dogs?

Only if you say I can!  I'm happy to walk dogs on their own or with one or two other friendly dogs, assuming your dog likes company.  I do not walk fearful or aggressive dogs with other dogs - ever.

My dog is aggressive - will you walk them?

Honestly?  Probably not.  But I do understand - my boxer Stanley was attacked when he was young and as a result reacts badly to other dogs, out of fear.  I will never knowingly put him in a situation that makes him afraid, but sometimes he does come into contact with other dogs - and I know what strategy to use (usually walking the other way!).  I know a very good behaviourist that I wholeheartedly recommend - please feel free to contact me or click on the links page.

How safe are you?

I am fully insured and experienced at working with various types of animals (see About me).  The areas that I choose to walk around are very safe - usually countryside and woodland.  Or I am happy to stick to your dogs usual route if you prefer.  Dogs are kept on a lead.  When you book, I will ask you to agree to my terms and conditions, which includes providing a list of emergency contacts and details of your vet.

What areas do you cover?

Most of my work is in Borough Green and surrounding areas, so Crouch, Plaxtol, Ightham, Wrotham, Ivy Hatch, Basted, Trottiscliffe and Meopham - but I am happy to travel further afield.

Other services - Cat Sitting and Small Pet visits

Leave your pet in familiar surroundings when you are on holiday.  I will visit as many times as you like each day to check them, provide fresh water and food, clean litter trays/hutches, lock/unlock cat flaps and spend time with them - the idea is to try to keep their routine as close to normal as possible.

How do I book?

Please contact me to discuss your requirements and check availability.  I will arrange to visit you to meet your pet and run through terms and conditions (including recording your contact details and those of a local emergency contact, vet, key holding procedure, payment and cancellation terms).  I can send you a copy of my terms and conditions and proof of insurance in advance, by e-mail or post, if you would like.
